The CommSpeed Story

Founded by cable and telecommunications pioneer Bruce Merrill in January of 2000, we currently serve over 7,000 customers and are licensed to use this spectrum in six states. CommSpeed is the fastest growing Internet Service Provider (ISP) in our service areas. We are the largest privately held provider of high-speed wireless internet services in the nation. But don't let that scare you. We like to still think we're pretty small. In fact, we pride ourselves in providing innovative technology backed up with personal, guaranteed customer service.

We're fully licensed by the FCC, which means security and encryption of your data as it is transmitted to and from our transmitter/receiver stations and facilities. Using licensed spectrum also enables us to minimize interference that frequently occurs on non-licensed networks. Unlike rogue ISPs who operate out of basements under non-licensed frequencies, CommSpeed prefers FCC licensing, assigned frequencies, and industry standard equipment, which allow us to provide first class service.
